Start and finish at Praça São Silvestre (close to Amadora Este subway station):

  • Bambis (born between 2020 and 2021) - approx. 300 meters (*)
    • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, then return to Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.
  • Benjamins A (born between 2017 and 2019) - approx. 500 meters
    • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, take the roundabout towards the Estrada dos Salgados (direction Estrada da Brandoa), return on the Estrada dos Salgados (approximately 150m), at the roundabout turn right in the direction of Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.
  • Benjamins B (born between 2015 and 2016) - approx. 700 meters
    • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, take the roundabout towards the Estrada dos Salgados (direction Estrada da Brandoa), return on the Estrada dos Salgados (approximately 150m), at the roundabout turn right in the direction of Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.
  • Infant (born between 2013 and 2014) - approx. 1,000 meters
    • Start from Praça São Silvestre towards the roundabout, take the roundabout towards the Estrada dos Salgados (direction Estrada da Brandoa), return on the Estrada dos Salgados (approximately 400m), at the roundabout turn right in the direction of Praça São Silvestre, where the finish line is located.

(*) In the Bambis category the child may be accompanied by an adult.


. Supply Stations

São Silvestre Amadora: liquid supply at 5 km; liquid and solid supply at the finish line.

In the Children's Race there will be supply at the finish line.


. Duration

São Silvestre Amadora must be completed at 2 hours after the start. At 8:00 PM the traffic will be restored.


. Registration: Deadlines

a) The prices and deadlines for São Silvestre Amadora are:

  • Until 15 September 2026 : €12
  • From 16 September to 30 November 2026 : €15
  • From 1 to 15 December 2026 : €18
  • From 16 to 31 December 2026 : €20

b) The Children's Race has a single fee of €5.00.

c) In the online registrations, in saosilvestredaamadora.pt, the payments can be made through ATM reference, VISA or MBWay. Each reference has a maximum validity of 72 hours. After this validity, the reference will expire and the athlete must register again.

d) The São Silvestre Amadora has a limit of 3,250 participants in the 10 km race and 350 participants in the Children’s Race.

The organisation may at any time suspend or extend deadlines or add or limit the number of entries of the event depending on needs / technical / structural availability, without notice.

In order to run the 10K, you need to be at least 18 years old when the event takes place - regulation of the FPA - Portuguese Athletics Federation.

e) Children born between 2013 and 2021 may participate in the Children's Race:

  • Bambis (born between 2020 and 2021)
  • Benjamins A (born between 2017 and 2019)
  • Benjamins B (born between 2015 and 2016)
  • Infant (born between 2013 and 2014)

. Race Packet

The São Silvestre Amadora race packet consists of a technical long sleeve (female and male model), a chip, a dorsal, pins and various offers from the partners of the event.

The Children's race packet consists of a unisex technical t-shirt, two dorsal pins, and a variety of offers from event partners.

The organisation guarantees all athletes a t-shirt. The sizes available for São Silvestre Amadora (10K) will be: XS, S, M, L and XL for Women and XS, S, M, L and XL for Men.

The measurements (height x width) of the available long sleeve sizes are:

  • WOMEN XS: 65 x 45 cm
  • WOMEN S: 66 x 48 cm
  • WOMEN M: 68 x 50 cm
  • WOMEN L: 70 x 53 cm
  • WOMEN XL: 72 x 55 cm
  • MEN XS: 68 x 49 cm
  • MEN S: 70 x 51 cm
  • MEN M: 72 x 53 cm
  • MEN L: 74 x 55 cm
  • MEN XL: 76 x 57 cm

The available sizes for the Children’s Race will be: 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 years.

The measures (height x width) of the available t-shirt sizes are:

  • 6 years: 50 x 37 cm
  • 8 years: 54 x 39 cm
  • 10 years: 59 x 42 cm
  • 12 years: 62 x 44 cm
  • 14 years: 65 x 46 cm

The size of each t-shirt will be chosen on the respective race registration form.

At the time of race packet pickup, no exchange of t-shirts size will be accepted. If stock is available after the event, the organisation will make the change.

Pickup

The race packet will be delivered at Pavilhão Desportivo Escolar Municipal Rita Borralho, Casal de São Brás - Av. Canto e Castro, 2700-782 Amadora.

a) Days and schedules:

  • December 30 , Wednesday, from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM
  • December 31 , Thursday, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

b) Required documentation to race packet pickup:

  • Registration confirmation (email received after payment)

c) You can also pick up someone else’s race packet:

  • Registration confirmation of the runner (email received after payment)

If not accompanied by this registration confirmation, it may be necessary to provide the identification document number of the registered person (Identity Card, Citizen Card, Driving Licence).


. Race packets
that weren't picked up

The organisation will keep the race packets which weren't picked up for 15 days after the event.

To claim your race packet, you should get in touch with us.

Runners will have to pay the shipping costs of these race packets.

If you don't claim your race packet after the established period, it will be donated to a social institution.

Gifts at the end of the race are exclusive to the runners who complete the course and cross the finish line, with the official race bib and chip of the São Silvestre Amadora.


. Race Number Bib

The use of your official race number is mandatory and it must be placed in the t-shirt's front, using the provided pins.

The organisation only guarantees bib customisation to athletes who register by December 13, 2026 (payment must also be made by December 13, 2026 ).

The race number is not transferable.

The organisation will disqualify all runners that:

  • Do not wear the assigned race number in their t-shirts
  • Wear other runner's race number
  • Fold or manipulate the race number in any way

Athletes without a race number or without their original race number will not be allowed on the course and will not have access to the giveaways.


. Timing Chip

All registered runners in São Silvestre Amadora must use the timing chip provided in the race packet.

The chip will be placed on the back of the dorsal and is coded for the athlete, being personal and non-transferable. The chip is disposable and will not have to be returned at the end of the race.

Chip reading will only occur if it is placed as instructed. If the chip is taken off or removed by the athlete, the athlete will not be classified.

The organisation can't be held responsible by any timing failure if the chip isn't placed accordingly to the provided instructions.

The organisation will disqualify all runners who:

  • use more than one timing chip
  • uses another's runner timing chip
  • use a timing chip from a female runner and it's a male; and the other way around

. Awards

All runners who finish the São Silvestre Amadora race and Corrida das Crianças (Children's Race) will get, after the finish line, a medal and several offers from our sponsors.

A digital participation certificate will be available for all athletes to download from the event's website.

The first three qualified men and women will be awarded trophies for the São Silvestre Amadora finish line (only the general classification will be taken into account).

The first ten male and female athletes in the overall standings will receive cash prizes:

. Participation
Policy

Everyone can be part of this race, regardless of their nationality or sex, as long as they are registered and have accepted our terms and policy.

For the safety of all participants, people riding bicycles, animals, skateboards and rollerblades will not be allowed to participate. The organisation does not advise participation in baby wheelchair.

The participation of athletes in wheelchair is allowed and must obey the general rules of this regulation.

It is mandatory that runners are at least 18 years old by the time the event takes place - regulation of the FPA - Portuguese Athletics Federation.

(*) The age groups are determined according to the calendar year in which athletes reach the stipulated ages. Athletes enter the Veterans category on their 35th birthday, taking 1991 as the reference year.

On race day, runners must carry an ID (any official document that proves your age. i.e. passport) in case it's needed to check their age.

. Starting Waves

The race will start by waves, according to the physical levels of the athletes and proven by the performance in the last two years in road events.

As a reference, the chip time obtained in the last two years in a race with a minimum distance of 10K should be used.

In order to qualify for Elite B, SUB45, SUB50 or SUB60 waves, it is mandatory to submit a time stamp from a 10K race in the last two years.

The time stamp must be sent to suporte@hmssports.pt, indicating the bib or identification number, athlete's name, and race link or certificate by December 13, 2026 .

All athletes who register after December 13, 2026 have three days after registration to submit proof of time to change their starting wave. If this procedure is not completed within that period, the starting wave will not be changed.


. Start

So that all participants can fully enjoy São Silvestre Amadora, the organisation will divide the race into several waves. The start will be given by starting waves and their size will depend on the number of entries per block. Athletes will not all leave at the same time, but by waves.

All registered athletes in São Silvestre Amadora must be aligned at the start, as a mandatory condition, until 6:00 PM . The doors of the blocks will be closed at 6:00 PM and all athletes who have not been placed into their blocks by that time must do so through the entrance of the +60 block.

It is forbidden to jump over the crates to enter the starting area. The athlete must respect the signs placed by the organisation and start from the corresponding starting block. Failure to comply with these rules will result in disqualification of the athlete.

The chip and dorsal should be placed according to the points 10 and 11 of this Regulation.

The final classification will be sorted according to the chip time.


. Timing System

The organisation guarantees all registered runners in the São Silvestre Amadora, who collect their race packets, a timing system using a chip.

The chip will be placed on the back of the dorsal and is coded for the athlete, being personal and non-transferable.

The chip can not be detached or removed. If the chip is taken off or removed by the athlete, the athlete will not be classified. The chip is disposable and will not have to be returned at the end of the race.

The reading of the chip will only occur if the dorsal is placed correctly.


. Course
Conditions

The organisation is committed to choose the best course, so the runner safety is guaranteed. However, it is not responsible for the pavement condition or obstacles that may appear during the course.

The course is approved by the official public entities.


. Unsporting
behaviour

The organisation will disqualify runners who:

  • provide any untrue info in the registration form
  • do not arrive at the starting area with the race number and timing chip properly placed, in accordance with points 10 and 11 of these rules
  • show poor physical shape
  • do not have a race number or do not have the original race number
  • do not wear the race number on the front of the T-shirt, clearly visible in the locations specified by the organisation
  • use another athlete's race number
  • fold or manipulate the race number in any way
  • use the provided timing chip incorrectly
  • use more than one timing chip
  • use another athlete's timing chip
  • disregard the signs placed by the organisation and / or jump barriers to get to start line
  • do not complete the whole official course
  • disregard instructions given by the organisation
  • show any kind of unsporting behaviour (i.e.: intentionally pushing other athletes)
  • disregard other runners

Amadora City Hall and HMS Sports won't accept runners who have an unsporting behaviour in its future races.


. Security and
Medical Assistance

The police forces will be responsible for managing, planning, controlling and eliminating unauthorised traffic during the events, as well as ensuring the safety of participants.

Car traffic will be cut off, along the entire length of the course, with the advance notice stipulated by the competent authorities. Car traffic will reopen two hours after the race start.

The organisation of the race will provide participants in the São Silvestre Amadora with medical support with emergency ambulances during the course, start and finish of the races.

If there is a need to continue emergency medical care, this will be provided by the national health service, under its responsibility.

The medical team will have the authority to remove from the São Silvestre Amadora any participant who is not fit to participate or who has received vital medical care.


. Complaints

Complaints must be made in accordance with the rules of the World Athletics (WA) and the Federação Portuguesa de Atletismo - FPA (Portuguese Athletics Federation), adding a €50,00 fee to the complaint file. This amount will be deposited until the complaint is solved. The amount will be refunded if the complaint is justified.

Any complaint must be filed in writing using an official paper provided by the organisation and until the end of the event.


. Acceptance

When registering, all participants accept this Regulation and, in case of doubt or a situation not covered by it, inform the organisation.

Upon registration, all participants agree to accept this Regulation. For the clarification of any doubt, or for any question not foreseen in this Regulation, the participants should contact the organisation through the email: geral@hmssports.pt

22.1. Disclaimer
São Silvestre Amadora

By registering, all runners comply with the following waiver:

  • a) I have read and agree to the General Terms and Rules of Participation of São Silvestre Amadora, available on the official website saosilvestredaamadora.pt
  • b) I am aware of my health condition and I am physically and psychologically able to take part in this event.
  • c) I am committed to abstaining from participating in São Silvestre Amadora, if my health conditions change after enrollment.
  • d) I have read and I am aware of the insurance policy of this event.
  • e) By taking part in São Silvestre Amadora, I unconditionally authorize that Amadora City Hall, HMS Sports Consulting and its partners use my image. All image rights - photos or filming - regarding my participation in the event belongs to Amadora City Hall, HMS Sports. All images may be used by the organisation for promoting purposes and are free of charge.
  • f) I take part in São Silvestre Amadora willingly, exempting Amadora City Hall, HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and others related to the organisation of any liabilities that may come out of my participation in this event (i.e. loss of personal objects by theft or other circumstances).
São Silvestre Amadora - Teams

The person in charge for registering team members assumes that they all accept this regulation and, in case of doubt or a situation that is not included therein, they must inform the organisation.

They further declare that they accept the following term of responsibility, which states that:

  • a) We have read and agree to the General Terms and Rules of Participation of São Silvestre Amadora available on the official website saosilvestredaamadora.pt
  • b) We are aware of our health condition and we are physically and psychologically able to take part in this event.
  • c) We are committed to abstaining from participating in São Silvestre Amadora, if our health conditions change after enrollment.
  • d) We have read and we are aware of the insurance policy of this event.
  • e) By taking part in São Silvestre Amadora, we unconditionally authorize that Amadora City Hall, HMS Sports Consulting and its partners use our image. All image rights - photos or filming - regarding our participation in the event belongs to Amadora City Hall, HMS Sports. All images may be used by the organisation for promoting purposes and are free of charge.
  • f) We take part in São Silvestre Amadora willingly, exempting Amadora City Hall, HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and others related to the organisation of any liabilities that may come out of our participation in this event (i.e. loss of personal objects by theft or other circumstances.
Children's Race

With the child registration, the parents, legal guardians and/or guardians accept this regulation and, in case of doubt or a situation that is not included therein, they must inform the organisation.

The legal person responsible for the child also declares that he/she accepts the following term of responsibility, which states that:

  • a) I have read and agree to the regulations of São Silvestre Amadora, available on the website saosilvestredaamadora.pt
  • b) I am aware of the state of health of the minor under my responsability and of his physical and psychological capacity to participate.
  • c) I am committed to not allow the child to take part in the Children's Race if their health conditions change after enrollment.
  • d) I am aware of the content of the insurance policy in force and have read it specifications, contained in the run regulations.
  • e) By participating in São Silvestre Amadora, I freely and unconditionally authorize the Câmara Municipal da Amadora (Amadora City Hall), HMS Sports Consulting and the partners of the event to use the image of the child under my responsability. By this mean, I give all rights to use the images, such as captured in photographs and filming that will take place during the running, waiving from any amount that will be earned in communication pieces.
  • f) The minor under my responsability participates in São Silvestre Amadora of its own free will, exempting the Câmara Municipal da Amadora (Amadora City Hall), HMS Sports Consulting, partners, directors, employees and other companies related to the organisation of the event of any responsibility resulting from the participation of my pupil in São Silvestre Amadora, before, during and after it (for example, loss of personal belongings due to theft or other circumstances).

22.2. Data processing

The personal data will be processed automatically according to the terms approved by the European General Data Protection Regulation, by the organisation of the event, the entity responsible for the data, and exclusively for the provision of the services necessary for participation in the event in which the athlete subscribes.

The processing of personal data for communications about the event you are registering for is optional and subject to specific and explicit consent in the event registration form, always in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR).

Participants are guaranteed, under the terms of the same law, access to their data, and may request from the organisation its updating, correction or elimination.

The personal data collected regarding this event will be stored for a period of two years and are accessible free of charge for consultation, rectification or deletion by email: geral@hmssports.pt


. Insurance

Participants must have the necessary health conditions for practicing sports. By registering, they acknowledge that they feel physically and psychologically prepared for the physical effort required by the event in which they will participate.

All participants, without exception, must have the necessary health conditions for practicing sports, exempting the event organisers, their partners, supporters, and involved public authorities from any liability.

The activation of the insurance requires the payment of a €75 deductible.

Over 14 years old

The event organisers provide registered participants with personal accident insurance, as set out in Official Letter No. CR/7/2013 (AAL Sports Insurance – 2013/2014 Season) with a death or disability cover of €31,672.04, treatment expenses up to €5,067.53, and funeral expenses up to €2,533.76.

Under 14 years old

The event organisers provide registered participants with personal accident insurance, as set out in Official Letter No. CR/7/2013 (AAL Sports Insurance – 2013/2014 Season) with a death or disability cover of only 10% of €31,672.04, treatment expenses up to €5,067.53, and funeral expenses up to €2,533.76.

The organisers are not responsible for situations not covered by this insurance.

By registering, the participant freely and unconditionally authorises Câmara Municipal da Amadora (Amadora City Hall), HMS Sports Consulting and their partners to use their image as captured in footage recorded during the event and authorises its reproduction in supporting communication materials.


. Personal
data waiver

Câmara Municipal da Amadora and HMS Sports Consulting reserves the right to use the database with runner's personal data, collected through the registration form for promotional activities.

Runners are able to refuse the use of their personal data in registration form by choosing the option "Deny authorisation".


. Reimbursement policy
and race numbers substitutions

The registration fee is not reimbursed.

However, until December 20, 2026 , the runner may request to assign his/her race number and timing chip to somebody else, as long as this request is sent in writing to the organisation – suporte@hmssports.pt. If the runner does not inform the organisation about the substitution, the organisation will not be responsible for any accident or damage suffered by that athlete.

The organisation only guarantees a personalised race bib to athletes who change their registration by December 13, 2026 .


. Event Cancellation
Policy

The event may be cancelled due to circumstances beyond the organisation's control: natural disasters, strikes, demonstrations, inability to use traffic routes, inability to use telecommunications, government restrictions or new legislation.

In these cases, the organisation reserves the right to issue a decision, within 30 days of the scheduled event date, regarding the actions to be taken as a result of the severity of the cancellation.


. Legislation
& Jurisdiction

These Terms & Conditions of use of this website are subject to Portuguese legislation in force at the time.

Any conflict or divergence of interpretation will be submitted to the competent territorial court. If the User resides outside Portugal, the Portuguese courts are hereby agreed to be competent.

The organisation has a support line.

Support line available from Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
